How to Change Your MHmicroscopy Domain Password (including for \\minsky)

How to log in is being changed.  Please look for signs near computers.

If You Have Forgotten Your Password or need assistance:

Please contact Michael in order to have your password manually updated to a new one, or to arrange a time to come by to secretly enter a new password. At your request a temporary password will be issued, and it will be up to you to change it later to a private password.  Please note:

• Your password cannot be looked up.  It is stored hashed/encrypted!
• The School of Medicine forbids sending of passwords for UNC systems via e-mail
• Passwords must contain at least a numeral, symbol, an upper case letter, a lower case letter and be at least 17 characters long and can not be the same as the 12 previously used passwords.  These rules are slightly different to the UNC ITS Onyen password rules.
• Password tips
• UNC mandates that passwords on computers connected to the campus network be changed every 365 days and be at least 17 or more characters if possible
• Password strength tip
• After hours password resets are possible if Michael is near a suitable computer or smartphone, is sufficiently conscious, not excessively distracted or cycling.  Try 919-265-9380 text/voice (please leave a message if no answer and remember to identify yourself!)
